A dancer's life

My love affair with dance began as a small child and have continued to grow and expand ever since. I am trained in various different dance styles and genres, including latin, heels and ballet.

My passion is mixture styles, that combine the classical genres with elements such as acrobatics and aerial.

As much as I do believe in the importance of upholding and honouring the different dance genres and their original form,

I am convinced that this division of styles can become a hindering for the creative process and flow of movement.

I believe that the more versatile as a dancer you become, the more skilful and accomplished you become.

Moving with gratitude

Our bodies tell a story.

Our bodies allow us to tell a story - to express.

I strongly believe that our bodies give back to us whatever resonates with the thoughts we are thinking about it.

If you truly love your body, are grateful and appreciative of the things it CAN do for you, and what it does for you every day without even having to ask,

you will change your life.

Be mindful of the conversations you have with yourself.

Self care isn't just holiday and massages. It's working on your habits, your mindset and healing your past. It's removing toxic thoughts, people and places in your life.

It's about living intentionally, purposefully and consciously.

Expression

Dance is in many ways a metaphor for the stages in our lives we go through. This is why dance become the ultimate way to inspire and create unity - through dance, we show the world who we truly are and who we can be.

Dance is the purest expression of every emotion, earthly and spiritual. Dance is the way we express ourselves when words are insufficient. Because that’s the thing with dance, it only demands one thing: passion. In flow of movement, we connect with our body, mind, soul, and the creative forces.

Therefore, dance can be a teacher. It teaches us not to give up - you persevere until you succeed. Even when you fail or make a mistake, you do everything in your power to get up and try again - to make it right this time. Because growth never comes from the comfort zone.

Every time I dance or perform I feel like I am stepping into a new realm in which gives me an opportunity to grow and discover new things about my dance technique or even myself as a person. This may come as a surprise from a professional, but I enjoy growth, and performing is a wonderful catalyst in which this can happen.

At all times, I welcome growth and deliberately push myself towards new realms I have yet to touch grounds with, because I know that change is inevitable,

but growth is optional. I choose growth and evolving.

Dance makes me feel full of energy and connected with my body, mind and soul. I return to my intended essence: resilient, free and alive.
